The opportunity

Ready to build a meaningful career that helps protect worker health and safety? As an Occupational Hygiene Technician, you’ll play a vital role in identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace hazards that can impact health in both the short and long term.

While this opportunity is based from our Brisbane office, where you’ll collaborate with consultants, receive mentoring and access ongoing training, you’ll spend most of your days out in the field collecting samples and supporting risk management and legislative compliance activities at various client sites. This is an excellent entry point into a long-term career in Occupational Hygiene, with clear pathways to progress into consultant roles across the business.

About you

You will either have experience in, or a keen interest to learn the following:

• Conducting air sampling for fibres, dust, heavy metals (e.g. welding fumes) and volatile organic compounds in accordance with relevant standards or guidance documents

• Conduct noise surveys and noise dosimetry

• Conducting Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) assessments

• Conducting Mould Moisture Impact (MMI) assessments

• Conducting post remediation verifications (PRV) following mould remediation or post fire remediations

• Hazardous Materials assessments and clearances

• Use of scientific testing equipment / maintain calibration requirements

• Conduct respiratory and hearing personal protective equipment (PPE) fit-testing, and other health and hygiene risk assessments

• Holding (or working toward) a current BSBWHS419 and Coal Board Standard 11 mining induction and medical

• Highly organised with strong planning skills

• Flexible and adaptable — site travel, including FIFO, is required

• Keen to learn, open to guidance, and able to support others

• Enthusiastic, positive, and proactive

• A strong team player who enjoys contributing to a dynamic work environment

• Holder of a full open driver’s licence

• Passionate about numbers and data
