Fit testing assesses whether respirators form an adequate seal around the face and checks if the wearer is receiving sufficient protection against biological contaminates. Training is also provided on how to correctly fit a mask according to Australian Standard 1715:2009 “Selection, use and maintenance of respiratory
protective equipment”.
What do I need to do to prepare?
Before conducting a fit test, the attendee
- MUST be cleanly shaven
- Not smoked within 30 minutes of appointment time.
There is a potential for the Fit Test to be inconclusive should the above requirements not be met.
How long does it take?
Approximately 15-20 minutes per test.
