Ten members of the RED OHMS Group team took part in The Push-Up Challenge through June, completing 3,307 push-ups each across 24 days to raise funds for Lifeline.
The target figure is not arbitrary. It reflects the number of lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2024, the most recent year for which data is available, and is set each year by the challenge organisers so that every repetition connects back to the reason for taking part.
Funds raised go to Lifeline, which provides 24 hour crisis support, suicide prevention and mental health services across Australia.
For a business whose work is workplace health and safety, the connection is a direct one. Looking after people does not stop at physical safety, and mental health carries the same weight as any other risk to worker wellbeing.
The team competed as the RED OHMS Goal Diggers, joining a national effort that has raised over $5 million across Australia this year.
