Recent DMIRS inspection have indicated a lack of rigour in some cases within gold rooms. There are regulatory requirements for the design, installation, maintenance and efficiency of gold room ventilation and to ensure there is a biological surveillance programme.
An audit can be carried out on gold rooms using the Gold Room Audit Guide and the hot process ventilation assessed using the ACGIH guidance: Industrial Ventilation: A Manual of Recommended Practice for Operation and Maintenance.
