Giovanni Sessarego is a Principal Occupational Hygienist and Certified Occupational Hygienist with a unique combination of skills drawn from 17 years of experience in hygiene across nickel, uranium and iron resources, and a further 10 years in synthetic chemical production. He holds an M.Sc. in Occupational Health & Safety, a Graduate Diploma of Occupational Hygiene, and a B.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, and is also a Chartered Chemist with the Royal Australian Chemical Institute. Giovanni has held senior roles as Occupational Hygienist, Specialist and Superintendent for Rio Tinto Iron Ore, BHPB Nickel West and BHPB Olympic Dam, and Production Supervisor for Johnson & Johnson — bringing a rare blend of operational, scientific and compliance expertise. His areas of specialisation include radiation safety, noise assessment, air quality, thermal stress management, confined spaces and process safety. Giovanni holds accreditation as a radiation protection advisor for uranium mining, rare earths, mineral sands and oil & gas industry NORM management through the NT Department of Health.
